On May 23, 1976, President Gerald R. Ford gave the commencement address at Warner Pacific College to approximately 1,000 guests. He was then presented with an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree by Earl J. McGrath, a member of WPC’s Board of Trustees and former U.S. Commissioner of Education.
