I began my journey at Warner as a transfer student in 2017 majoring in music and ministry. Within the first semester I knew that being a music major was not for me. I switched to Christian Ministries and Community Engagement and began working at the library. I applied because I love to read and write and even want to publish a book of my own one day.
What wasn’t expected was the community I found between the students working at the library and the amazing library core staff. I enjoy working at the library so much because of this and feel that I am accepted. The diversity among the books purchased makes me feel seen and heard.
Since coming to Warner I’ve experienced and seen so much diversity on campus and am part of Student Diversity Council to continue and improve the feeling of inclusion on campus. I’ve found a real passion for helping others while at Warner through working at the library and SDC. After graduation in December 2020 I plan to continue to grow and learn in my passion and continue bettering myself.
